Welcome to Faringdon, a historic market town in the Vale of the White Horse.

Faringdon is a wonderful destination for a holiday, short break or day visit. Full of character and quirky charm, the town reflects the influence of the late Lord Berners, with attractions including Folly Hill, the famous Folly Tower, the pink pigeons and the much-loved diver bench.

Set high on a ridge between two river valleys, Faringdon enjoys far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside. White Horse Hill, the River Thames and several National Trust properties are all within easy reach, making Faringdon an ideal place to explore, relax and unwind.

Our friendly Museum and Information Centre staff are available to help visitors plan their visit and support residents and businesses with any queries. Normal opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm, Saturday 9.30am to 1.00pm. Please also see our Things to do page.

Our mission is to represent the community and provide practical support that helps sustain the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the town.
