Prince Emoji Meaning
A prince, a boy or man wearing a crown. Added in 2016 as a gender pair for the then-already-available 👸 Princess.
Can be used to represent a King or other male royalty. May also be used to discuss broader themes of power, wealth, or success.
Most platforms’ designs depict only the prince’s smiling face and crowned head. In contrast, Facebook and Microsoft include elaborate royal uniforms with epaulettes, as did a previous Google design. Facebook’s prince also wears a slightly smug expression compared to others' more pleasant smile.
Crown style also varies by platform, ranging from rounded gold crowns with jewel studs to taller, more ornate ceremonial designs.
Not a reference to the musician Prince; however, WhatsApp’s 👨🎤 Man Singer emoji depicts a character bearing a strong resemblance to the artist.
An early Microsoft design only depicted the prince's face and crowned head.
