With all the going's on this weekend I thought it might be fun to see what's coming down the comics line.
Marvel scribe Brian Bendis is brining a comic to Marvel's Icon label that was co created with his daughter Olivia called Takio, an all age book drawn by Michael Avon Oeming.
The story fallows the two daughters of a multiracial family who learn to adapt when they suddenly gain super powers.

DC's Vertigo imprint is also getting a new Asian lead character via chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdaine. His upcoming graphic story 'Get Jiro' centers on a world where chefs gain powers from recipes and sushi chef Jiro finds himself in the middle of an action thriller.

"Takio" revolves around a pair of bickering siblings who are forced to try to understand each other and work together when fate bestows upon them the unexpected gift of super powers. "It's the story of a multiracial, adoptive family. There are two sisters who are really getting on each others nerves. They have an overprotective mother who makes them stay together all the time, and they drive each other crazy," Bendis told CBR News. "Accidentally, as it often happens in these things, they get super powers and become the first super heroes in the world. But because their over protective mother would kill them if she finds out, they have to be home by 6 - no matter what."
