Allergies 2

Cicily went to the allergist on Friday, and I have been really good about making sure her epi pen goes with her where ever she goes. Since the visit takes like 2 hours they don't allow extra children, and Diane was sick so we let Cicily choose, and she chose daddy to go with her so I stayed home with Renick. I felt like the epi pen should go with her so we put it in Cicily's bag. So Nick and Cicily went to the appointment, they did the scratch test on her back and found out she has an allergy to pistachios in addition to the cashews. So they drew some blood to check if there were any other nuts she had an allergy to, and most of them were really mild except the cashews, and the pistachios, which were the worst. The doctor told us she should stay away from all tree nuts, because her allergies could still be developing, the reaction could change and be worse next time (or better you just don't know), and the only way to out grow the allergy is through abstinence. So after the appointment they came home, and we forgot that Cicily's epi pen was in her bag, and the bag was left on the floor. Well Renick got into her bag and got the epi pen out, and he must have been paying attention when I've been training Cicily, because he took it out of it's case, removed the blue safety device, and jabbed it into his leg. Only instead of putting it in the thigh where it belongs he did it just above the knee cap. We took him to the hospital, because the medicine wasn't ment for him or his age. So my 2 year old has already overdosed. The hospital kept Renick for observation for half an hour to watch his heart rate then they let us go home. My adrenaline was probably as high as Renick's my hands were shaking so bad. We've had quite the adventure.

Allergies

A little over a month ago we found out Cicily's allergic to cashews.
How the day went: Gammy was cutting up cashews for chicken salad sandwiches. Cicily asked for some. She ate 3/4 of one nut. She started complaining that it was stuck and it was hurting her (right where it goes into the stomach). So we gave her some milk and bread thinking that might help it go down. 20 minutes later she threw up all over herself and daddy, who had been holding her. We got her changed into some different clothes, thinking that her body had just taken care of the problem, but we gave her a bowl just in case. She of course threw up again, and she started itching the area where she threw up on herself. So we looked at the area, and she had hives all over her lower stomach and groin area. We gave her some Benadryl, and kept a close eye on her breathing and her hives. They kept climbing to her chest so we took her into the doctor. The doctor checked her over, of course said she was having a bad reaction. Left to get her prescriptions for a steroid to suppress the reaction and an epi pen, in addition to info for a referral to an allergist. Then he checked her breathing again to make sure she was ok before we left.

So right now we're living at my husbands parents house, which is fine, but there is also his two adult brothers and sister which makes it rather hard all around. With 7 adults and 2 kids the house is rather full. We finally get to move out though and I am so excited, because there are a couple people in this house I'm about to rip a new one. I'm tired of thier self righteous attitudes, laziness, and they need to keep thier no child experience opinions to themselves.

A little update!

So We've had a busy April. We had Renick's first birthday which was a lot of fun. He really enjoyed opening his presents.

I made a pirate cake for him to eat and it was really cute watching him demolish it. He took a couple small bites at the beginning with Cicily helping him, and then he destroyed it. So cute you couldn't even get him to try another bite after the destruction began.

We also had Cicily break her arm this month. She was outside playing on the jungle gym in the back yard with her friend Sidney. Cicily likes to hold onto the rings and go upside down and she fell and broke her left arm at the radial head so sad.

So Cicily and I were going out to the car and we smelled a skunk and she asked me "Mommy is it a boy skunk or a girl skunk?" I said " I don't know Cicily" she thought about it for a little while and told me "It's a boy skunk." I said "Oh what makes you think that?" Cicily said "It's a boy cause it stinks." I had a hard time stopping laughing at that one.

The Last 2 Months

My Bad Day

You know as I start to write about my bad day I just want to say I know there are people out there who have it a lot worse then me.

So my bad day today.

I've been recovering my couch and it looks really good but today while I was sewing one of the cushions I sewed the tip of my finger and might I say it really hurts.

After I had sewn most of the cushion I realized the top and bottom were off by like and inch so I had to unpick the cushion and resew it.

Oh and of course my children wanted my attention while I was doing this so there was much weeping and wailing.

Cicily was very disobedient today I don't know what it is but she listens to people who aren't mom and dad, Sometimes I feel like chopped liver.

Nick stayed late at work

A few days ago Cicilly put a pull-up in her laundry basket well I didn't find it till after it had gone through the wash. Wet pull-up that has been shredded is not fun to clean out of the washing machine.( I was crying)

Nick was sweet though he got home while I was crying and cleaning out the washer, and he wanted to take over for me but it was the only thing keeping me away from my crying children so I said no. But he did start putting up the Christmas decor and got a 5 buck pizza so I didn't have to cook. Then we went shopping and we got me some ice cream. Well I was putting the food away and Nick was holding Renick and he asked to switch cause Renick was hungry well I started feeding Renick and Nick forgot about the food and an hour later my ice cream still hadn't got in the freezer.

So I didn't feel like signing out of Nick's Gmail. So it's really Carisa. Renick got his first tooth yesterday. It's funny watching him as he's getting bigger and able to do more. He's still more interested in watching than actually doing. He rolls over on his own Cicily likes to help sometimes even though she shouldn't like yesterday when she rolled him over into the book shelf . Or today when she was hitting him in the tummy it didn't help the tummy bit that Renick was laughing every time she hit him. She kept telling me "but mommy he likes it!" I'd have to tell her I know he likes it but that doesn't mean we do it.

So this was Renick's first Halloween, and Cicily really got into going Trick or Treating. She went with her cousin Rachel, but she kept leaving everyone in the dust running from house to house. She had a lot of fun Cicily was a princess this year and Renick was a cute little Lion.

Spooka Palooza

So I won tickets to Spooka Palooza in Sandy and Nick was busy so I took Grandma and Jenny. Cicily was a little difficult as it was for kids mostly and she knew what she wanted to do and didn't want to wait for anyone.

Renick had fun too. Who wouldn't being carried everywhere.

First Fall for Renick so I thought I'd get a few fun pics in.

We've also had our first snow and I've been making these cute hats.

Renick Cicily and them silly selves

Renick and Cicily are never boring. We've had a lot of fun getting to know Renick's personality as it's started showing up more and more. He's a very happy baby. Cicily says the funniest things like yesterday, I told her not to eat to much candy and she said " ya cause it will make our teeth fall out and Jesus will have to buy us new ones." She says things all the time that I'm like where did that come from? Cicily and I made chex muddie buddies this last week and Renick rolled over for the first time after a lot of coaxing, hasn't done it again yet of course, but at least he's taken the first step.

So I haven't posted in a while, but I need to get more pictures up here and videos because Renick is growing so fast. He's only 5 months but he's already almost 17 lbs.

We've gone to the Cabin a few times.

We went bowling the other day with Nick's family it was a lot of fun Cicily really liked pushing the ball down the ramp.

A couple days ago Daddy and Cicily went to Utah Lake fishing and these are the pictures and video from the trip.

Splash Park and Hair Cut

Yesterday we went to Heather's house to get hair cuts and play at the little splash park by her house. We had a lot of fun and I like my new cut that will keep Renick from pulling my hair. He thinks it's his personal toy.

So we all went to the zoo Cicily loved the bird show and the elephants. The zoo also had a ton of dinosaurs Cicily and Rachel love little play dinosaurs the big ones not so much they started to get over their fear towards the end though.

The 4th of July we set off fireworks and Cicily and Renick had Sparklers. Renick was board as ever. lol

Today Cicily wanted to wash the dishes and of course she wanted to do it herself this is the result. I did have to go back and wash them, but I would like her to want to do work so I was willing.

Cicily accidently got scrached by a friends dog when they were playing fetch the dog just got to excited and wanted the ball before Cicily had thrown it.

These are just a few other things that I thought were cute.

Cicily had a great birthday with lots of friends and family.

Her cousins Keely, Carter, and Rachel came. So did her friends Sydney and Alison. They had pizza, a bounce house, a pinata, cup cakes, and Cicily got a bunch of great presents.

Renick's Story

So Nick and I went into the perinatologist's office to see if we could turn the baby because he was breech. They did an ultrasound first to see if it was possible to turn him, but the cord was around his neck so it was a no. The perinatologist decided we should monitor the baby's heart beat for an hour to make sure he was alright, but within 20 min. he moved twice and his heart rate dropped both times so she said guess what you get to have the baby today! I asked if we could go to a different hospital because I really wanted Orem Community and she said that was fine, but I wasn't allowed to stop on the way. So we got to the hospital and they started monitoring the baby, and while we were waiting for the doctor Nick went home to get the camera and the car started more then leaking radiator fluid. And I went into labor while waiting for a C-section. Nick made it back to the hospital in time and was able to be there to see our little man come into the world.

So yesterday Nick and I went shopping and left the kids with grandma. When we got back grandma told Cicily to tell us about the birdies. Cicily said "Daddy fishies eat birdies, then the fishies say here birdie birdie"

Then later that night we were over at Mike and Mary's and I asked Cicily what fish eat and she said "fishing poles"
