There are five sections to the CIL Diplomatic system:
National Properties - An explanation of the attributes used to determine international relations.
Personality (AI) - An overview of the themes used to determine the national actions of computer players.
Major Actions - The various major diplomatic activities, such as declarations of war and alliances.
Minor Actions - The various minor diplomatic activities, such as trade.
National Status - The different ways a nation can exist in CIL.
