It’s warm again and I’m craving the beach. But not just any beach. Specifically a beach with beautiful cliffs, crystal clear ice-cold water, and vibrant green algae. I don’t live near one of those so I will draw it instead 🌊
Lighting doesn’t have to be so complicated. If you memorize basic lighting, you can use that as a starting point for a bunch of different styles! Join the lazy club and use shortcuts like I do 😌 I have a video that explains everything ~ watch it here!
Wrinkles and textured skin are beautiful, vibrant, and full of life. Folds and loose skin have beautiful shapes and volumes. If you view aged skin through the eyes of an artist, you gain a deep appreciation of its beauty 🖤 That’s why we drew wrinkles and folds for last month’s drawing challenge, and guess what, I enjoyed it so much that I’ll probably do it again! 👵

How to draw underwater settings: make everything floaty and weightless. Done! ✅ Unless you’re a geek like me and want to learn all about how to paint the lighting: the highlights of the ripples, the bluish glow, the reflections.. there’s a lot to think about but it’s so satisfying once you get it right!

Smudging charcoal on paper with my hands gives me the ICK. I just can’t handle the feeling. I got goosebumps just thinking about it 😓But I love the style so I drew this on my iPad, and my hands feel clean and moisturized. Yay! ✨
